Ryan Brown is a serial entrepreneur who brings hands-on, cannabis production and distribution experience to the leadership of NorthBud. Most recently he co-founded Tetra Bio-Pharma, a multi subsidiary publicly traded company (TSXV:TBP, OTCQB:TBPMF) engaged in the development of bio-pharmaceuticals and natural health products containing cannabis and other medicinal plant based elements.
Previously, Ryan worked as a distributor of hydroponic gardening equipment and plant fertilizer in Canada and the United States, and successfully launched multiple identifiable industry brands. This experience provided firsthand perspective on techniques, trends and regulation of a variety of target market segments. His diverse experience and demonstrated knowledge has swiftly gained him a reputation as a leading expert in cannabis and a force within the industry.
André is a proven cannabis industry player as a Co-Founder of Tetra Bio-Pharma (TSXV:TBP, OTCQB:TBPMF). With over 25 years of experience in the financing of public companies, he provides strategic direction and oversight to guide company execution. Since 2003, he has served as Chairman & CEO of Everton Resources Inc.(TSXV:EVR), a publicly traded mining and exploration company. From 1989 to 1999, he was a Vice-President at BMO Nesbitt Burns, where he specialized in private portfolios. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce, with a Finance Major from the University of Ottawa, and is a Certified Investment Manager (CIM).
Pete began his professional career running a financial advisory practice that serviced corporations and professionals. In 2016 he launched Pot People, a professional recruitment service focused exclusively on the emerging Canadian cannabis industry. This venture allowed Pete to further expand his network and ultimately led to the co-founding of NorthBud. Pete’s background in finance and entrepreneurial hustle allow him to strategically address business development initiatives and drive shareholder value through business operations. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a Finance Major from the University of Ottawa’s Telfer School of Management, has completed the Canadian Securities Course, and previously held the CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation.
With over 30 years of public accounting experience, Lucie is a highly specialized finance and accounting professional. From 2005 to 2009 she was the CFO of Paramount Gold and Silver Corp. (NYSE/TSX: PZG) and contributed to the company’s development from a private enterprise through private capital raising and two public listings, overseeing $30 Million in equity financing. Paramount Gold was later acquired by Coeur Mining (NYS: CDE) for $200 Million. Most recently, she was CFO of Crestwell Resources Inc. (CSE: CER) up to it’s acquisition by Organic Garage Inc. in October 2016. Her experience also includes working as credit & loan officer and controller for private enterprises. Her skills include financial reporting for US and Canadian public companies, tax compliance, corporate governance, and continuous disclosure requirements.

Shanel is founder and president of Ardent, a biotech and medical cannabis company that developed the NOVA™ decarboxylator. She is a founding member and co-chair of the Northeast Cannabis Coalition as well as board member and counsel to the Massachusetts Patients Advocacy Alliance. Shanel was a drafter of the adult-use cannabis legalization initiative that passed in November 2016, and was appointed by the Treasurer to the Massachusetts Cannabis Advisory Board. An attorney by trade, Shanel previously worked as a judicial law clerk for the Massachusetts Superior Court, a civil litigator for Boston law firm Sugarman Rogers Barshak & Cohen, and Employment Counsel & Director of Human Resources for the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission.
Justin is an experienced operator in the cannabis industry with significant public market knowledge. He is currently the President of Made By Science, a pharma and technology company of which NorthBud has a 7.8% stake. Previously, Justin served as a President at MJIC focusing on operations and strategic acquisitions within the cannabis industry. Before joining MJIC, Justin served as CEO for two public companies on the OTC market; both in the Cannabis sector- Vape Holdings (OTCQB: VAPE) and Agritek Holdings (OTCQB: AGTK). Justin is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy having earned a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, a master’s degree in Nuclear Engineering, and an MBA from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
As partner and member of both McMillan’s Cannabis Regulatory Group and National Capital Markets and M&A Group, Kosta brings considerable expertise to NorthBud on corporate finance, securities, and mergers and acquisitions matters. Having represented both issuers and investment dealers, Kosta is often involved in private and public debt and equity financings, including private placements and public offerings. He has also been involved in a number of corporate reorganizations and restructuring transactions, take-over bids and proxy contests. Advising both private and public companies with respect to their ongoing corporate and securities law obligations, he has acted for various junior, mid-cap and established issuers in connection with their initial public offerings and listings on the Toronto Stock Exchange, the TSX Venture Exchange and the Canadian Securities Exchange.
Paul is an experienced technology and intellectual property lawyer with over sixteen years’ experience at top Canadian law firms (Gowlings, Stikeman Elliott) and as in-house legal counsel for small and medium companies (Telesat, Bridgewater Systems, BlackBerry, Sidense). Paul’s practice and experience includes managing intellectual property portfolios, including patents, trademarks and copyright, and providing legal advice on intellectual property, corporate and commercial law, IP transactions, litigation, employment law and other related legal matters.
Matt specializes in IT and business process control related projects in support of Internal audits and financial audits. As a professional accountant he holds the CA (Chartered Accountant) and CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) designations. He currently runs an independent management consulting firm that specializes in IT controls, Internal controls over financial reporting, privacy auditing, forensic auditing, and Sarbanes Oxley. In addition to Enterprise Risk Service related experience, his background includes twelve months experience as a financial auditor, as well as two years at the Canadian Revenue Agency in accounting and financial analysis. He has also been an instructor within Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business accounting program since 2007, where he teaches a fourth year audit course on Internal Controls, Financial IT and Internal auditing.
